A meal kit is a special menu developed by the restaurant and Spork Bytes to be delivered cold, yet still offer a restaurant experience at home. We believe heating the food on your own stove allows for the aromas of the restaurant to fill your house and bring you a bit closer to being there. We believe this is the next best thing to dining out!
A meal is best when it comes directly out of the oven or off the stovetop, not delivered lukewarm. A chilled meal kit allows you to enjoy it when it is most convenient for you.
Ordering ends at 10 am two days before your selected delivery date.
We will include heating instructions on the appropriate items. We suggest the oven, stovetop in a pot or microwave depending on the items.
We suggest enjoying within 3 days of delivery.
We strive to leave as small of a footprint as possible. Boxes and the plastic containers that are larger than 6 oz are recyclable in Portland as long as they are rinsed out. They are also great to reuse at home.
We currently deliver the greater Portland metro and even into Vancouver.
Tipping is completely discretionary and we do not take any tips online. We pay fair and consistent wages. We suggest adding a bottle of wine instead of a tip.
Currently, we deliver items from the Spork Bytes Shop on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Unless there is a concierge or doorman to the building, someone imperatively has to be home. Clients who use the service on a regular basis can make special arrangements with our office.
When you order a meal kit, you will be asked for a preferred delivery time between 2 pm and 6 pm. We will do our best to accommodate that request. Contact us at email@example.com to make specific arrangements if needed.
If there is no alcohol, our driver will leave the food at your front door with ice packs and a cooler bag. If you have a larger insulated bag or cooler, you can leave that out for the driver. You may otherwise make prior arrangements with the office, the driver can leave it where you requested, at your back door or in your garage for example. Please leave the ice packs in the bag when removing the food from the cooler bag.
If there is alcohol, we will need to verify whomever receives the order is over 21. If no one is home, our office will be in touch to make new arrangements.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you know no one will be home to receive the delivery.
Once the food is delivered and left at your door in our insulated bag, we recommend that you refrigerate it within 2 hours – 3 at the most. Please leave the ice packs in the bag when removing the food. The bag is then ready for your next delivery and the driver will trade out the soft ice packs for new frozen ones.

Of course! Just be sure to have the correct address for delivery and add a note in the checkout that it is a gift. An email to email@example.com couldn’t hurt either. It is best if the recipient is around to put the kit in the refrigerator.
